1. Introduction

Billaire (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our client management and invoicing mobile application (“App”).

This App is a “local-first” application. This means all your business data (clients, invoices, etc.) is stored only on your device and is never sent to us or any third party. The only data transmitted is non-personal, technical crash reports, as detailed below.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Data You Provide (Stored Locally on Your Device)

We do not collect, transmit, or have access to any of your business data. This information is stored exclusively on your device:

  • Client information (names, contact details, addresses)
  • Invoice records and line items
  • Service catalog and pricing
  • Order details and items
  • Service request information
  • Business profile settings

2.2 Technical Data We Collect (for Crash Reporting)

To fix bugs and improve app stability, we use a third-party service (Firebase Crashlytics) to automatically collect technical information only when the App crashes. This data is non-personal and includes:

  • Crash stack traces (the line of code where the error occurred)
  • Device type (e.g., “iPhone 14”) and operating system (e.g., “iOS 18.0”)
  • App version (e.g., “1.0.1”)
  • Timestamp of the crash

We do not collect analytics, track your behavior, or log your usage of the App.

2.3 User Preferences

  • App settings and configurations (e.g., currency, tax preferences)
  • Notification preferences
  • Security settings (biometric authentication preferences)

3. How We Use Your Information

3.1 Core Functionality (Local Data)

Your business data is used only on your device to:

  • Provide client management services
  • Generate invoices and track payments
  • Manage orders and service requests
  • Calculate totals and business metrics
  • Sync data across app sessions

3.2 App Improvement & Stability (Technical Data)

We use the limited technical data we collect (from Section 2.2) only to:

  • Analyze app performance and crash reports
  • Fix bugs and improve app stability

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Local Storage

All your business and client data (Section 2.1) is stored locally on your device in a standard SQLite database. This data is never transmitted to external servers and remains under your complete control.

4.2 Security Measures

We take data security seriously; however, you must be aware of the following:

  • No Encryption: Your local database is not currently encrypted. This is a planned feature but is not yet implemented.
  • Biometric Authentication: We support biometric authentication (Face ID, Touch ID) to secure access to the App.
  • Secure Data Handling: We follow best practices to prevent unauthorized access to the App’s local storage.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

5.1 Your Business Data

We do not sell, trade, share, or have access to your business or client data (Section 2.1). It never leaves your device.

5.2 Third-Party Service (Crash Reporting)

We use one third-party service, Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service), for the sole purpose of collecting crash reports. We only share the non-personal, technical data listed in Section 2.2 with this service. This data is used only for debugging and contains no personal or financial information.

5.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information only if required by law, such as to comply with a legal process or protect our rights and safety. This does not apply to your local business data, which we do not possess.

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Data Control

You have full control over your local data:

  • Access: View all your data within the App.
  • Modify: Edit or update your business records at any time.
  • Delete: Delete individual records. All deletions are permanent and cannot be undone.
  • Export: This feature is not yet available.

6.2 App Permissions

  • Storage: Required to save your business data locally.
  • Biometric: Optional, for secure app access.
  • Notifications: Optional, for invoice reminders and alerts.

7. Data Retention

Data is retained locally on your device until you choose to delete it. All delete functions in the App perform a permanent, irrecoverable deletion.

Uninstalling the App will permanently remove all local data associated with it.

8. Children’s Privacy

Billaire is a business application not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

9. International Users

Our crash reporting service (Firebase Crashlytics) is operated by Google and may process the non-personal technical data (from Section 2.2) in the United States.

Your personal business and client data (Section 2.1) never leaves your device and is not subject to international data transfer by us.

10. Your Responsibility as a Data Controller

As a user of Billaire, you are the “Data Controller” for all client and business information you enter into the App. You are solely responsible for:

  • Obtaining proper consent from your clients before storing their information.
  • Complying with all applicable data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your clients’ information.

We (Boiyelove International, LLC) are the “Data Controller” only for the non-personal, technical crash data we collect.
